Navigation on the SDW is easy, but it is worth having a map and/or GPX trail.
I use a Garmin Instinct and have a backup of viewranger on my phone. Viewranger is a free app for IOS and Andriod. You only pay for OS maps. Great app IMO.

Winchester meeting point
As we have three travelling down by train and three by car, we should look to meet up at St Peter's Car Park, Gordon Rd, Winchester SO23 7DD, which is half way between Winchester Railway Station and the Old City Mill (official start of SDW)
The follow link gives details of the short distance between Winchester Station and the start of the SDW at the Old City Mill, Bridge Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9BH
